Service Delivery & Expertise
Hester Klopper serves in a number of professional offices including election as
Director-at-Large of the International Board of Directors of Sigma Theta Tau
International (2008-2011) (first person from Africa to be elected), election as
Secretariat-Treasurer of the Tau Lambda-at-Large Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau
International (2005-2010), election as a member of the International Board of
Directors of the International Network for Doctoral Education in Nursing (INDEN)
(2006-2010), as well as Chairperson of the Forum of University Nursing Deans in
South Africa (FUNDISA) (2007-2010).
Other recent service delivery and expertise highlights include that Hester Klopper
was appointed by the North-West Province MEC for Health, to the Hospital Board
of the Klerksdorp-Tshepong Hospital Complex (2010-2012). She is a member of
the International Research and Scholarship Committee of Sigma Theta Tau
International (2009-2011) and she is a member of the International Advisory
Committee for Nurse Faculty Mentored Leadership Development Programme

Also, Hester Klopper is an invited member by the World Health Organization of the Global Alliance for Nursing and Midwifery (GANM) Steering Committee (Dec 2008 – Nov 2012) and inducted as a member of the South African Academy for Science and Art (June 2010). She was invited, as one of twenty-one global leaders, to participate in the Global Summit for Nurse Faculty Migration, Geneva, Switzerland, 27-29 June 2010. Hester Klopper is also a member of more than 10 professional societies.
