A likely low-scoring occasion could be on the cards when Castellon host Cadiz with both teams short in respective home and away form.

The hosts picked up their first win of the season last weekend, claiming a 2:0 win on their travels at Burgos. Dick Schreuder′s side had failed to score in earlier games against Eibar (1:0) and Ovideo (0:0).

A poor home record proved a major issue for Castellon in their last spell in this division with only seven wins recorded in their last 21 home Segunda Division fixtures since 2021.

More recently, five of Castellon′s last seven competitive fixtures saw under 2.5 goals scored, and that outcome seems likely here with Cadiz also short in early-season form.

Since their return to Spain′s second tier after their relegation from the Primera Division, Cadiz have yet to win, with two draws picked up since a 4:0 reversal against Zaragoza on the opening day of the season.

On the road, Cadiz scored just five goals in their last 11 competitive fixtures, and while most of those games in the top flight, a lack of firepower does appear to be a major issue for Paco López′s side.

Facing each other for the first time since 2010, six of seven previous encounters produced less than three goals, and I expect the same outcome on Monday.

Under 2.5 goals is my top tip, while I also like the chances of the points being split at Nou Estadi Castalia.
