Following the international fixtures, the North London derby takes center stage, with Tottenham and Arsenal clashing in a fierce battle on Sunday afternoon as part of matchday four of the Premier League.

Last season, the first under Australian coach Ange Postecoglou, went well for Spurs, but there remains a sense that they could have achieved more, as they finished in fifth and missed out on a Champions League spot by just two points. As they aim to make a strong statement about their ambitions for a top-four finish, Tottenham have endured a variable start in the Premier League, with an opening-day draw of 1-1 at Leicester and a four-goal demolition of Everton followed by their first setback of the season as they fell 1-2 to Newcastle last time out.

Spurs' arch-rivals Arsenal are still in the hunt for their first Premier League title since the Invincibles of 2003-04, but it seems as though they either lack the necessary luck or struggle to handle the intese pressure in crucial moments, as in the last two top-flight seasons they let the title slip away in the final weeks, finishing behind eventual winners Man City by five points in 2023 and two points the previous term. In a desperate bid to end their two-decade trophy drough in the England's top flight, Mikel Arteta's chosen ones have made a decent start to the season by collecting seven points from nine on offer in their first three outings, two points shy of the maximum-achieving sides Liverpool and Man City.

Even though they have posted a mixed start to the new league season, we believe that the Spurs have a decent chance to make things difficult for their North London rivals, and thus we will back them here with a double chance. In their opening home game, Tottenham delivered a masterful performance to blow Everton away with a 4-0 victory, and they will do everything in their power to bring joy to their loyal fans once again. 

Capital rivals Arsenal went unbeaten through the opening three weeks, but after back-to-back triumphs against Wolves and Aston Villa, they faced their first slip-up, with Declan Rice as the scapegoat, who was sent off, allowing Brighton to earn a contentious 1-1 draw. Bad omens suggest that Mikel Arteta’s squad might take another step back in their quest for the long-awaited title, as the depleted visit their arch-rivals after their list of absentees growing during the international break. 

With Odegaard, Merino, and Rice guaranteed to be sidelined, we don't see how Arsenal could orchestrate a winning finish in the first North London derby of the season, so we hope that the near-full-strenght Spurs will capitalize on the key absences of their city rivals to deliver a painful blow. The Gunners might be chasing a third straight victory at Tottenham’s home ground, but given their current selection issues, we highly doubt they will manage it, as Postecoglou’s team could kickstart their season by shaking up their capital rivals.
